Fostering a child’s innate curiosity will set them up for success in academia and in life—that’s why promoting a lifelong love for learning is something we strive towards every day at Laugh and Learn Early Learning Center. Our Private Pre-K classes focus on achieving academic milestones and developing social and problem-solving skills.
We use a child-focused, research-backed curriculum that supports early learners, and is in accordance with the high-quality, research-based Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS). Our learning environment encourages children to explore learning materials. Children build academic, social, and emotional skills and become part of a classroom community.
Georgia Pre-K
In addition to private Pre-K we are also proud to offer the state-funded Georgia Pre-K program. Each Georgia Pre-K specific classroom offers six and a half hours of learning with a qualified Georgia Pre-K teacher. Our Georgia Pre-K classrooms utilize the same curriculum as our Private Pre-K classrooms, which are in accordance with the high-quality, research-based Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS). What is Georgia Pre-K?
Georgia’s Pre-K Program is a state lottery-funded educational program for all age-eligible four-year-old children in Georgia. Georgia’s Pre-K Program aims to prepare children for success in kindergarten and later school years. Pre-K programs usually operate on the regular school system calendar for the length of a typical school day.
How does Georgia’s Pre-K Program prepare a child for success in kindergarten and later school years?
The first of the National Education Goals states “all children will start school ready to learn.” Keeping in mind the following contexts, Georgia formulated a definition of school readiness. We believe school readiness must be developmentally appropriate based on four-year-olds’ nature and how they learn. We believe it must be culturally reflective of families and how they live. School readiness must be defined within the context of communities and the services they provide. and it must be defined within the context of schools and their readiness for children.
Is my child eligible for Georgia's Pre-K Program?
To participate, children must be four years of age on or before September 1 of the school year and be a Georgia resident. If a child is not served as a four-year-old, then the child may be eligible to attend the Pre-K Program as a five-year-old. All children enrolled in Georgia’s Pre-K Program must have hearing, vision, dental and nutrition examination certificates (DHR Form 3300) on file within 90 calendar days of program entry
